The story revolves around a cool and carefree guy Tom Reilly (Zach Braff) who is not quite sure about his career. His career is going no where and professionally he has not achieved much. His dear wife Sofia (Amanda Peet) a lawyer takes care of the house. She is the sole earner for the family. However a turning point takes place in their lives as Sofia after their first child decides to sit back home and take care of the kid. Now the whole burden of the family comes on Tom’s head but to his bad luck he is being fired from his job and ultimately has to start working with his father in law. Things get worse when he develops problem with his colleagues especially Chip Sanders (Jason Bateman) who was after his wife Sofia from a long time back. Sofia too is not very happy staying back home. All these things lead to so much confusion and all of them try to get out of it.
