Andrew Wyke is a fanatic game player who is about to meet his match at gamesmanship. It all begins when he invites Milo Tindle to his 16th century manor. To Milo's surprise, Wyke is completely aware of his romantic releationship with Marguerite, Wyke's estranged wife. However, Wyke seems delighted when he proposes a plan that will benefit both of the men. Milo eagerly copperates only to find out that the plot is merely a deceitful scheme of Wyke's to taunt qand humiliate him for his involvement with Marguerite.
